Portsmouth South accept Breathe of Fresh Air Award

Portsmouth South now an Award Winning Group

Portsmouth South celebrated winning two Breath Of Fresh Air Awards on the 25th September. The group were runners up for Outstanding New Group in the London and South region and won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Awarenes Raising and Campaigning. Pictured are Arthur Harmer, Eric Compton and Dave Banbury who are all founding members of the group.

Portsmouth South have lift off!

Arthur and DaveCongratulations to Breathe Easy Portsmouth South who on the 18th April held a launch party to celebrate officially opening as a Breathe Easy. Over 45 people came out to support the group including many friends and family of the members. The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Councillor Paula Riches (pictured with Chair Eric Compton and Treasurer Sally Kendrick) joined the party and complimented the group on their hard work as well as revealing her own struggles with asthma.

Merry Christmas from Breathe Easy Portsmouth South

Breathe Easy Portsmouth South celebrated their first Christmas as a group in style with a meal at the Thatched Inn in Portsmouth. Guests were entertained by the magician Tom Beattie and the Thatched Inn enjoyed Portsmouth South Xmas Lunchhosting the group so much they donated £50 to the cause (pictured Sally Kendrick receiving the cheque from Luke Rowntree).

World COPD Day

As part of World COPD Day on 17 November, the group held an awareness event at the Cascades Shopping Centre in Portsmouth. Members of the NHS were at hand to undertake lung testing.
The day was a great success, with dozens of people stopping by to both have their lung capacity tested and to gather information about COPD as well as other lung conditions.
