Group News Breathe Easy Week
Breathe Easy Norwich held an information stand at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital open day to mark Breathe Easy Week. The group was located in the Department of Respiratory Medicine.
Respiratory nurses Paula Browne and Sandra Olive carried out spirometry and oxygen saturation tests on members of the public.
Lots of people filled out Sleep Apnoea questionnaires and collected information about Breathe Easy Norwich. The hospital had over 6000 visitors in total!
Two of the group's members are pictured by their stand above.
Breathe Easy Norwich hold information stand
Breathe Easy Norwich held an information stand at the Norfolk Respiratory Study Day on 25th May.
The 16th annual study day was held at the John Innes Conference Centre and was attended by over 140 delegates from surrounding GP surgeries, hospitals and community trusts. The study day coincided with Breathe Easy Norwich’s day trip out, so Mick Clapham manned the information stand and did a fantastic job of speaking to as many people as possible.
Flyers, posters and information leaflets were available from the stand, as well as balloons and bin badges. The group’s newly designed flyer was even included in every delegate pack!
It was a very successful day and many thanks go to Mick for giving up his time to promote the group, and providing that vital patient perspective to the people he spoke to.
Group Outing to Bury St Edmunds
The annual group outing took place again this year. Upon arrival, some of the group ventured to priory gardens, which is always worth a visit - especially the beautiful rose garden. Others had a wonder around the shops. The town market was also a popular stop, as you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables there, along with almost anything else you might need - all within close proximity. The fish and chips there are always a plus, too! On the way home a short stop was made for the raffle - all in all another successful trip for everyone!
A big Thank You to everyone who helped with organising the day and to St Christopher's coaches.
Seventh May Dance at St. Faith's
The music this year was provided by Mary Little. The selection of music was great and the dance floor was full all night. There was also a raffle with lovely prices. Everybody had a great night overall!
A big Thank You to Wes, Pam Findlay, Peter and Ruth Burgess for organising this fantastic evening. Also thank you to Rosemary and Pam Thorpe for organising the raffle, and to Janet for the squares. The total raised that evening was an amazing £550.
Country Music Evening
Everybody at Breathe Easy Norwich got into the swing of things for their Country Music evening, yee-ha! As a result, they raised a whopping £320!
