More about the group

World COPD Day 2010

World COPD Day

As part of World COPD Day, BE Ipswich and NHS Suffolk held a stand, in order to raise awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The physiotherapists from the chest physio department at Ipswich Hospital joined them at the Cornhill, Ipswich town centre. They brought along their portable spirometres in order to test people’s lung capacity.
We managed to persuade willing people to take the test on the day, which was a very successful overall, yet a little cold and windy.

Breathing Easier at Hospital

BE Ipswich were very pleased to be able to present some equipment to the Respiratory Ward of Ipswich Hospital, which included 40 nebulisers, worth more than £ 2,500. (Nebulisers are pumps which provide air and medication to patients with breathing difficulties). The equipment was much needed and will help the respiratory team to care for more patients in their homes rather than bring them into hospital for treatment.
