More about the group
World COPD Day
On Wednesday 16th November, Breathe Easy Harlow & Epping Forest held an awareness stand in their local shopping centre to raise awareness of COPD. The group spoke to lots of people throughout the day and collected £50 towards their funds. They were also joined by the local respiratory team. A big thank you to the group for all their hard work in raising vital awareness of COPD.
Breathe Easy Week
Breathe Easy Harlow & Epping Forest held an information stand at the Civic Centre in Harlow during Breathe Easy Week. The group spoke to lots of passers-by throughout the day and raised awareness of Sleep Apnoea. Mike Mckevitt from the British Lung Foundation also stopped by the lend a helping hand.
Brave Abseiling
After six friends and members had a very successful day of abseiling last year, four friends and members of the Breathe Easy group decided to take on the challenge this year.
Martyn, Joe, Barbara M., and Barbara W. (pictured on the right) abseiled and managed to raise a fabulous £600 for the group in return for their bravery. Well done to the four of you and a big thank you to everyone for their support.
Pride of Lee Boat Trip!
BE Harlow & Epping went on a Lee Valley Boat Trip. They have done their "cream tea cruise", on the Pride of Lee. Just under 2 hours cruise up and down the River Lee, enjoying the view of the countryside and luxurious houses with gardens backing onto the river.
With a very good tea, relaxation and entertainment, all had a good time viewing the stretchline river with the bird life.
Harlow & Epping Forest Quiz Night!
The quiz night was a great success with 12
tables competing. Overall the event raised an amazing £250! Clair Evans' (the Development Officer from the BLF) table 'only' came third, but the team members are already looking firward to a re-match.
