Breathe Easy Canvey Island celebrate 1st birthday with Breath Of Fresh Air Award

Breathe Easy Canvey Island have been awarded the British Lung Foundation's National Breath Of Fresh Air Award in the category of Outstanding New Group.

The group provides vital support to many people suffering from lung conditions on Canvey Island and the award shows that all their hard work has paid off. The BOFAA certificate was presented to the group by the BLF's Mike McKevitt at their 1st birthday party in September.

Mike is pictured above (right) with BE Canvey Island members Joan Adams, Jim Grotier and Charlie Powell.

The group celebrated their birthday party with a buffet and some fantastic entertainment from Diane Moore, who got everyone singing!

Breathe Easy Canvey Island hold an Easter Bonnet competition!

Breathe Easy Canvey Island dressed up in handmade Easter bonnets at their meeting in April.

Members of the group had made a big effort to decorate their hats with everything from painted eggs to hot cross buns!

The competition was judged by Claire Battye, British Lung Foundation Development Officer, and the winners were presented with Easter eggs. Charlie and Sylvia
