More about the group

World COPD Day event is a great success

Breathe Easy Bedford held a tombola stall at Bedford Hospital to mark World COPD Day on Wednesday 16th November and raised a fantastic £315! Congratulations to the group for organising such a successful event!

Fudge(d) again!

Fudge the DogSince the group started in 2007, BE Bedford have held sponsored walks as part of Breathe Easy Week. In previous years they were held at Marston Moretaine Forest Centre, but this year it was held at Bedford County Priory Park, a local amnety with many attractions for walkers, cyclists, wildlife watchers and sailors.

Group members raised more than £1163 of which Fudge raised £120 (improving on his total for last year). Chris Butcher must be mentioned also, because she managed to raise almost £500 by herself. Everybody enjoyed the day even though there were a few spots of rain and it was overcast for most of the walk.

The local Tesco store in Cardington Road donated bottles of water, which was a much appreciated gesture - as was all the help from the local park rangers.

Pictured above is Fudge, with his owner Amy and her grandfather Barry Smith.
