More about the group

We'd like to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work of Rosemary Hadert, long-standing Newsletter Editor and Chair who we sadly lost recently. Rosemary was involved in Breathe Easy Essex for over 17 years and has been instrumental in supporting local people affected by lung disease. Her hard work and commitment to the group has made a huge difference to people's lives and and we are greatly appreciative of everything she has done for Breathe Easy and the British Lung Foundation.

Rosemary's funeral will be held at 12pm on 8th March at Pitsea Crematorium.

BE Basildon & Canvey Island Carnival Stand

Breathe Easy Basildon and Canvey Island held an awareness stand at the Basildon Carnival. They give away freebies, baby bibs and sold bric a brac and baby clothes. The group gave out lots of 'Children's Charter' postcards and a lot of people filled these out showing their support for this British Lung Foundation Campaign (to ban smoking in cars when children are present).

During the day, the awareness stand also had a few mentions from Heart Essex which drew people over to it. This successful event attracted 100-200 people and ten people want to join BE Basildon as a result.
