Fundraising pays off!
Patients with breathing problems will be cared for in comfortable new facilities at Torbay Hospital thanks to fundraising efforts of the community. The day room in Midgeley Ward has been refurbished with the aid of staff and the BLF Breathe Easy Group.
Several charity events have been taking place and more than £25,000 has been raised. Breathe Easy fundraisers Bridget Day and Maggie Dawson, the owner of Maggie & Co managed to raise thousands of pounds through a number of fashion shows. Fellow fundraiser Louise Bushall ran a half marathon in aid of BE Torquay.
Sue Jones the COPD Nurse on Midgeley Ward said "It is really important that patients coming into hospital are offered a pleasant and restful environment for them to recover. On behalf of the staff and patients I would like to thank all those people who took park in the fundraising, and those who kindly donated."
