£200 from Devon Northcote Fund
Coffee mornings have raised more than £90 this year.
The event raised £450 for The British Lung Foundation and generous traders donated many of the 25 raffle prizes. The rugby club gave the clubhouse free and also laid out a hot buffet.
In April 2011 the group were pleased to receive £100 form the Freemasons giving yet another boost to0 group finances.
June 2011 - members held a walk in Stover Park to raise awareness of lung disease. Freda, Terry, Carolyn, Keith, John and John all walked the full distance of the park grounds with an occasional rest for those with severe health issues. Member Terry has had more than his share of health issues but had determination to do the walk along with the others and with just a short rest completed the walk along with Freda. The group achieved a total sponsorship income of £247 by doing this event. Well done to everyone!.
The Sky's the limit!
A skydive by a Teignmouth lady to help those with chronic breathing problems has raised £364. Clare Reed heard about Pat Culkin who was about to undergo an operation for a double lung transplant and decided to help by raising funds.
Pat who had for several years been a fund co-ordinatior for Teignmouth Breathe easy had raised a lot of money for the group as well as the British Lung Foundation.
Clare got friends, relatives and Breathe Easy members to sponsor her to do the daredevil stunt of a skydive at Dunkeswell Air field. The 16,000ft fall thankfully resulted in a safe landing for Clare.
The funds raised by Clare were handed over to the Breathe easy group in february 2011. Chair John Vaughan said of Clare's skydive, "A fitting tribute to Pat from a very brave young lady"
