More about the group

World COPD Day
Breathe Easy Sheffield’s Sue, Pat, Rhoda and David and BLF’s Margaret Tait attended Sheffield PCT’s World COPD Day events at Sheffield Wednesday FC’s ground. Advertised as ‘A Patient’s Journey of Living with COPD’, the programme included sessions on yoga for COPD, pulmonary rehabilitation, anxiety in COPD, breathing exercises and sputum clearance. There were also talks on ‘Non-Invasive Ventilation’, ‘Oxygen’ and ‘COPD Supported Discharge Scheme’. There was a lung Quiz in the afternoon and team ‘Breathe Easy’ won first prize! Just goes to show you learn a lot attending Breathe Easy meetings. The BLF Breathe Easy awareness stand handed out a lot of information and collected signatures for the BLF’s petition to ban smoking in cars when children are present.
BREATHE EASY WEEK
Breathe Easy Sheffield held a Lung Health Day at Wybourn Children’s Centre to launch the BLF's Children's Charter campaign to mark the launch of the charity’s 25th Anniversary year.
Members of the public were encouraged to pledge their support for the campaign by signing the Children’s Charter petition at the event. The group was supported by their stalwart health professional, Sue Ryan.
If you were unable to go along to the event the petition can be signed online at www.lunguk.org/lungsareforlife
