Breathe Easy Sandwell launches!
On Thursday 8 December 2011 Breathe Easy Sandwell held their official group launch. The launch is the culmination of a year of planning and regular meetings, so the group decided to celebrate with a Christmas Party. They were joined by members of local respiratory exercise groups, who had the opportunity to find out more about the BLF and Breathe Easy. The development of Breathe Easy Sandwell has been supported by the BLF Midlands team and the Sandwell Community Respiratory Team. Sandwell is an area with particularly high levels of lung disease, as detailed in the BLF’s Invisible Lives report so this group will be an important source of support and information for local people who are affected by lung disease. The group are keen to welcome new members and have a programme of speakers planned for 2012.
September meeting
At their September meeting, members enjoyed a talk on Oxygen, and they are looking forward to hearing from an Occupational Therapist and their local police force in the coming months, before holding their launch party in December. The group is keen to welcome new members – come along and learn more about your lung condition, plus enjoy tea and chat. Carers, partners, family and friends will be made very welcome too.
