BLF Marathon runner takes to the stage

02/01/08

A 28-year-old from London, who is running the London Marathon for the British Lung Foundation this year, will be swapping the treadmill for the stage later this month.

Dieter Thomas is performing in the musical ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’, which is being shown at the Richmond Theatre from January 29 to February 2.

He decided to raise money for the British Lung Foundation after his stepfather Ken died from a rare type of lung fibrosis in April 2006.

“Very little is known about how to treat certain lung diseases, so I wanted to raise money to help fund research,” says Dieter.

Mr Thomas is a director for a professional theatre company called Theatrespot who have also made the British Lung Foundation their charity of the year.
