Hull Love Your Lungs September 2010
The British Lung Foundation (BLF) and NHS Hull are launching their second ‘Love Your Lungs’ campaign in the UK’s number two hotspot for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The campaign which was a huge success in January 2010 will launch again in September 2010 with the aim of alerting residents to the symptoms of the common lung disease. COPD is a term used to describe a number of lung conditions including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
The BLF are keen to reach people who are unaware of the early symptoms of COPD, which include breathlessness and a persistent cough, often with phlegm. To help people identify symptoms and find out whether they have a problem, the ‘Love Your Lungs’ campaign will be running three events offering members of the public free lung function tests. The events will be held at the following locations on the dates noted so please come along and have a test!
