Results of the British Lung Foundation Summer Raffle 2010 winners list
Our vital work to help people with lung disease depends entirely upon the generosity of our supporters and kind people like you. Without these voluntary donations we simply would not be able to continue helping the one in seven people in the UK who are living with a lung condition.
We currently send out appeals every year to our supporters. Not only do they provide us with much needed income but they also allow us to update supporters about our work and to let them know how much of a difference they are helping us to make.
Our September 2007 appeal focused on Lynn Ashton (pictured), who developed COPD after inhaling toxic fumes as the result of an accidental fire in her home. Lynn’s experiences speak more powerfully than I can of the immense comfort and value that information and caring support can provide.
"The people on the helpline understand my condition and can empathise with what you're going through. This is very, very important for me. They also have all the information you need on hand. They can suggest practical changes to make to your life to cope with COPD, deal with the treatments and stay positive."
When you consider that one person in seven in the UK is, like Lynn and her family, affected by lung disease, I’m sure you’ll appreciate how important it is that we continue to provide our essential services. If you would like to make a donation towards the BLF’s latest appeal please click here to download the donation form and return it, completed, to the following address. Anything you can give would be very much appreciated.
